4 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking & Gorilla Trekking Safari

Embark on an early morning drive as you journey through the captivating landscapes of papyrus swamps and lush jungle in the Nile Delta region. En route to Kibale National Park, situated beneath the majestic Ruwenzori Mountains, enjoy a delightful lunch break. In the afternoon, take a guided walk in the enchanting crater lakes area of the park, offering a rich cultural experience. Your accommodation options for the night include Kyaninga Lodge, Crater Safari Lodge, Ndali Lodge, Primate Lodge Kibale, Mountains of the Moon Hotel, or Kibale Forest Camp. After a wholesome breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale Headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a forest walk in search of chimpanzees. This guided forest walk not only provides insights into chimpanzees and other primates but also offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of smaller organisms. Keep an eye out for Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, and Red-tailed monkeys. After the chimpanzee trek, continue your journey to Bwindi, passing through the scenic Queen Elizabeth National Park, a lush highland rainforest teeming with primates and exotic birds. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at your choice of accommodation: Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs, Gorilla Safari Lodge, Nkuringo Bwindi Lodge, Silverback Lodge, Engagi Lodge, or Chameleon Hill Lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Start the day with a hearty breakfast as you prepare for the highly anticipated gorilla trekking experience. The trek commences at 8:00 am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) staff. Make sure to bring essentials like a rain jacket, water, snacks, and sturdy jungle boots. Knowledgeable guides will lead you into the jungle to encounter the elusive Mountain Gorillas. This is an incredibly exciting wildlife adventure that may take between 2 to 6 hours, but the experience is well worth the effort. In the afternoon, engage in a village walk in Buhoma to gain insights into the lives of the local communities surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This is a fantastic way to support the local community directly and is a highly informative and rewarding experience. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your chosen accommodation. Bid farewell to Bwindi as you embark on your journey back to Kampala, with a stopover at Mbarara’s Igongo Cultural Village. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the lifestyle and culture of the Ankole and Bahima people. This cultural center is where the past and future converge. Enjoy lunch on the way and make a memorable stop at the Equator in Uganda before your evening departure back home. This marks the end of your adventure.
