Day 01: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you will be met outside the baggage hall by Reliable Tours representative and assisted with your luggage. Transfer to your city hotel for check in. Dinner is on own account today. Overnight in Nairobi Hotel

Day 02: Nairobi

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel

Your safari adventure begins here in Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital city. Nairobi is a bustling metropolis known for its unique blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty. You will visit the Nairobi National Park, the only national park within a capital city in the world. Here, you can witness the incredible sight of wildlife against the backdrop of the city skyline, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and more. Visit Daphne Sheldrick Elephant orphanage, which is dedicated to the conservation of orphaned elephants and rhinos. Lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee garden. After lunch proceed to Giraffe Centre where you will have the opportunity to can get up close and personal with the endangered Rothschild giraffes and to also feed them from an elevated platform. Continue to Karen Blixen Museum a captivating and educational experience that allows you to delve into the life and times of the renowned Danish author Karen Blixen, who is best known for her autobiographical novel, “Out of Africa. The museum has a gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs, books, and art related to Karen Blixen’s works and the history of Kenya

We will also visit Kazuri Beads, a pottery and bead-making cooperative. Here, you can purchase beautifully handcrafted ceramic beads and pottery

Return to the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Dinner on own account, overnight at Nairobi Hotel

Day 03: Nairobi/Samburu National Game Reserve

We depart and drive through the central highlands of Kenya. Venture north to Samburu, a semi-arid region known for its unique wildlife and rugged landscapes. The Samburu National Reserve is your gateway to a world of rare and remarkable species, such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, and the Samburu “Special Five” (the Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, and reticulated giraffe). The Ewaso Nyiro River cuts through this dramatic landscape, providing a lifeline for the animals and a stunning backdrop for your safari adventures

Enjoy lunch at Trout Tree restaurant which serves fresh trout from the trout ponds below, char-grilled to perfection

Upon your arrival at Samburu Game Reserve, you will have the opportunity to embark on an exhilarating afternoon game drive, allowing you to immerse yourself in the wildlife and natural beauty of the reserve until the sun sets. Following this memorable experience, you will make your way to the camp where you can complete the check-in process and begin your stay. Dinner and overnight

Day 04: Samburu National Game Reserve

Begin your day with an early rise, and, after savoring a quick cup of steaming tea or coffee alongside delectable pastries, set out for the early morning game drive at approximately 6:30 am. After around two hours of wildlife exploration, return to the camp for a hearty late breakfast. The remainder of the morning is yours to relish at your leisure, taking advantage of the camp’s available facilities.

Following a sumptuous lunch served at the camp, take some time to unwind before embarking on an afternoon game drive that will extend until the sun dips below the horizon. During this excursion, you’ll have the remarkable opportunity to visit the local Samburu villages, providing a unique chance to engage with the vibrant Samburu people in their traditional environment and immerse yourself in their rich culture. This experience also presents an excellent opportunity to acquire traditional Samburu souvenirs, captivating art pieces, and valuable collectibles.

As the day transitions into evening, return to the camp where a delicious dinner awaits, followed by a restful overnight stay, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the adventures of the following day.

Day 05: Aberdare National Park

Check out after breakfast. We head South in Aberdare National Park, a highland wilderness that offers a distinct contrast to the arid plains of Samburu. Aberdare is known for its dense forests, lush moorlands, and pristine waterways. This park is home to various species, including the elusive bongo antelope, black rhinoceros, and elephants. Accommodations here often include tree lodges and luxurious hideaways perched high in the trees, allowing you to observe wildlife from a unique vantage point.

After lunch deposit your main luggage and carry a small overnight bag. Transfer to The Ark and check in. The Ark offers a commanding view of a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, a magnetic draw for a diverse array of wildlife. Modeled after the legendary Noah’s Ark, The Ark boasts four viewing decks, complete with balconies and cozy lounges, ensuring you can enjoy exceptional game viewing without leaving the comforts of the lodge. Spend the remainder of the evening observing wildlife from the sanctuary of your own balcony. Day 06: Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast at The Ark check out, transfer to Aberdare country club to retrieve your main luggage and rejoin your driver guide.

Drive to Lake National park making a short pause at Thomson’s Falls, a remarkable tourist attraction situated in Nyahururu town, which was originally stumbled upon in 1883 by Joseph Thomson, an inquisitive Scottish geologist and naturalist. This site is perched at an impressive altitude of 7,800 feet above sea level. Nestled within the embrace of riparian vegetation on the slopes of the surrounding ranges, the falls are nothing short of breathtaking, and the ethereal mist they produce is truly a marvel to behold.

For an even more immersive experience, one can descend into the heart of the jungle to obtain an unobstructed view of the falls. Continue to Lake Nakuru National a stunning soda lake in the Great Rift Valley. Lake Nakuru National Park is renowned for its abundant birdlife, particularly flamingos that create a mesmerizing pink spectacle along the lake’s shores. Beyond the flamingos, the park hosts a variety of other wildlife, including leopards, Rothschild’s giraffes, and white rhinos. The surrounding savannah and acacia woodlands also offer prime game viewing opportunities. Lunch will be served at the lodge followed by check in. Settle in before departing for an afternoon game drive until sunset. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 07: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Day 08: Masai Mara Game Reserve

For the intrepid traveler seeking a bird’s-eye perspective of the magnificent Maasai Mara, hot air balloon rides and safaris provide an unparalleled experience. These aerial adventures offer approximately an hour of soaring above the vast park, taking flight at dawn. As you drift gracefully through the sky, you’ll have a remarkable opportunity to witness the park’s wildlife from above, observing them in their natural habitat. Upon landing, a champagne breakfast is prepared on the balloon’s burner, creating a memorable culmination to this extraordinary journey.

Your day commences at 6:00 AM, with an early rise and a delightful hot cup of tea or coffee accompanied by pastries in the lounge. Following this refreshing start, you’ll depart at around 6:30 AM for an early morning game drive, venturing to the heart of the Maasai Mara’s wildlife-rich zones. Day 09: Departure

Savor a leisurely breakfast. Following this, it’s time to check out and commence our journey back to Nairobi. We’ll pause for a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, and then, depending on the details of your outbound flight, you will either be escorted to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for departure or provided with a day room to unwind and prepare for your onward travels.
