5 Days Kibale, Queen Elizabeth And Bwindi

Day 1: Kampala to Kibale National Park (Approximately 5 hours of driving)

Embark on your journey after enjoying breakfast in Kampala. You’ll travel through the captivating landscapes, including papyrus swamps and dense jungle in the Nile Delta, on your way to Kibale National Park, nestled at the base of the Ruwenzori Mountains. In the afternoon, explore the crater lakes area of the park with a knowledgeable guide, immersing yourself in the local culture. You’ll spend the night and savor your meals at one of the following accommodations: Kyaninga Lodge, Crater Safari Lodge, Ndali Lodge, or Primate Lodge Kibale. Meal plan: (B, L, D)

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth (Approximately 3 hours of driving)

Start your day with a hearty breakfast and head to Kibale Headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a forest walk in search of chimpanzees. Your forest walk will be guided, providing you with insights not only about chimpanzees and primates but also the fascinating world of small organisms. Along the way, you might spot other primates like Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, and Red-tailed monkeys. After the chimpanzee trekking, drive to Queen Elizabeth and prepare for an enchanting two-hour boat cruise along the renowned Kazinga Channel, offering glimpses of hippos, buffalos, kobs, elephants, warthogs, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Mweya Safari Lodge, Kyangabi Crater Resort, or Enganzi Safari Lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi (Approximately 6 hours of driving)

Commence your day with a cup of coffee and set out for an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile, where you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, and numerous bird species. Next, drive through the Ishasha Sector, which takes you along the unique western rift valley escarpment. If time permits, embark on a mini game drive in the Ishasha sector to spot the iconic tree-climbing lions before continuing your journey to Bwindi Forest National Park. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs, Gorilla Safari Lodge, Nkuringo Bwindi Lodge, Silverback Lodge, Engagi Lodge, or Chameleon Hill Lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Habituation Experience

Begin your day with breakfast and get ready for an incredible gorilla trekking adventure. The trek begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) staff. Make sure to bring essentials like a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and sturdy jungle boots. Accompanied by researchers and guides, venture into the jungle to observe the elusive mountain gorillas for the group you’ve been assigned to. Don’t forget your lunch boxes and all necessary gear for tracking these rare primates. Meeting the gorillas for up to 4 hours is an unforgettable wildlife experience. The duration of the habituation experience can vary, taking up half or a full day depending on when you find the gorillas, but it’s undoubtedly worth the effort. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Gorilla Safari Lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 5: Bwindi to Kampala/Entebbe (Approximately 10 hours of driving)

Return to either Kampala or Entebbe, with a lunch stop en route. Take a break at the Igongo Cultural Centre to explore the lifestyle of the Ankole and Bahima people. Afterward, make a pit stop at the Equator in Uganda before your evening departure home. Meal plan: (B, L) End of services.
