Day 01: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Your safari starts with a morning pickup from your Nairobi residence or airport by your professional driver-guide. Depart the city and drive south across the scenic Athi Plains, traversing traditional Maasai country. Arrive at Amboseli Sopa Lodge in time for check-in and a freshly prepared lunch. After an afternoon rest, head out into the park for your first dramatic game drive. Amboseli is famous for its massive elephant herds grazing against the jaw-dropping backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 02: Full Day Exploration in Amboseli National Park

Spend a full day immersed in the raw wilderness of Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. An early morning start offers the clearest views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s snowy peak and catches predators like lions and cheetahs before the heat of the day. Explore the park’s diverse landscapes, ranging from dry, dusty lake beds to lush, green swamps fed by underwater springs from the mountain. Spot buffalos, hippos, zebras, giraffes, and an abundance of avian life. In between drives, return to the lodge to unwind by the pool.

Day 03: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early breakfast, check out and embark on a scenic drive towards the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the valley floor as you descend towards Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at Ziwa Bush Lodge in time for lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, head out for a thrilling game drive around the iconic alkaline lake. Lake Nakuru is a world-famous bird watcher’s paradise and a critical sanctuary for both black and white rhinoceroses. Keep your eyes peeled for leopards resting in the acacia branches and herds of endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. Return to the lodge for a peaceful dinner and overnight stay.
Day 04: Lake Nakuru to Nairobi
Enjoy a final hearty breakfast at the lodge before checking out. Take a brief en-route game drive out of the park for one last look at the stunning landscape and its wildlife. Begin your return journey back to Kenya’s capital city. Arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon, where your driver-guide will transfer you to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) for your onward flight, concluding your unforgettable 4-day Kenyan safari.
