3 Day Gorilla Express Safari

Explore the captivating Parc National des Volcans, nestled in the northern region of Rwanda, where approximately 300 mountain gorillas call home. For those with a scientific curiosity, a visit to the Karisoke Research Centre is a must – a facility established by the renowned primatologist, Dian Fossey. Alternatively, you can immerse yourself in the local culture by exploring nearby villages. The Parc National des Volcans (PNV) is an integral part of the Virunga Conservation Area, covering an expanse of over 125 square kilometers. Should you wish to explore beyond the park, a tour of Kigali City awaits. The city boasts vibrant markets, poignant genocide memorials, and craft centers, making it a compelling destination. Throughout Rwanda, solemn memorials stand as powerful reminders of the tragic events of 1994. One of the most significant among them is the Genocide Memorial in Kigali (Gisozi), offering a comprehensive insight into the history of the genocide. Visiting these memorials is an emotional experience for most visitors.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes NP

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, your driver-guide will warmly welcome you. Depending on your arrival time, your guide may propose a visit to Kigali City, which includes a visit to the Genocide Memorial center at Gisozi. Following this, you’ll be transferred to Kinigi at the base of the Volcanoes. Enjoy an overnight stay and dinner at Le Bamboo Lodge (mid-range) or The Garden Palace Hotel (Budget facility) (Lunch and Dinner included).

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll head to the park’s headquarters, where your driver-guide will handle the necessary formalities. Here, you’ll meet your ranger guide(s) for a briefing on what promises to be a remarkable animal encounter – gorilla trekking. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included).

Day 3: Parc Volcanoes and Departure

Embark on a golden monkey tracking expedition, and afterward, return to Kigali. If you missed the opportunity on the first day, you’ll have the chance to explore Kigali City, including a visit to the Genocide Memorial center at Gisozi. Finally, it’s time to bid farewell as you’re transferred to the airport for your departure. (Breakfast and Lunch included) This marks the end of your memorable journey.
